1. Overview of this Hot Fix Release

   This hotfix helps prevent SfCtlCom.exe (the module managing all the
   components of Trend Micro AntiVirus Plus AntiSpyware, Trend Micro
   Internet Security, or Trend Micro Internet Security Pro) from
   crashing without warning due to circumstances beyond your control.

   Installing this hotfix helps prevent Trend Micro AntiVirus Plus
   AntiSpyware, Trend Micro Internet Security, or Trend Micro Internet
   Security Pro from suddenly crashing.

   You can install this hotfix only on computers already protected by 
   Trend Micro Internet Security 2009, Trend Micro AntiVirus plus 
   AntiSpyware 2009, and Internet Security Pro 2009.


5. Installation
========================================================================

   Note: To install this hotfix, you must log on your computer using
         an account with administrator privileges. If you have installed
         software on your computer before, then you probably have these
         privileges.

   Follow the steps below to install this patch:

   a. Download "tis_1700_win_en_hfb1458.exe" onto your computer.

   b. Double-click the "tis_1700_win_en_hfb1458.exe" icon.

   c. When a warning window opens, click "Yes" to continue.

   d. Upon completing the installation, a window will display the
      current version of the product. Click the "OK" button.


6. Post-installation Configuration

   To ensure that you have the latest protection, download the latest
   security update immediately after installing this hotfix.
