Overview of this Hot Fix Release ======================================================================== When configuring the password of proxy authentication by using command "splxmain -y", the password that is encrypted is incorrect. What's New ======================================================================== Prior to this fix, users would encounter a proxy authentication failure when performing a scan engine or virus pattern update if they configure a proxy server with authentication using the command "splxmain -y". After applying this hot fix, the users can successfully perform update by Web console or by command line using "splxmain -y". 3. Installation/Un-installation ======================================================================== Back up the original file using the "cp -p" command and replace it with the hot fix. Verify that the installed hot fix has the same file permissions as the original file. To install this hot fix: a. Log on as root. b. Stop the ServerProtect service. WARNING: The following command will unload the ServerProtect services and will leave your system temporarily unprotected. # /etc/rc.d/init.d/splx stop c. Back up the original module. # cd /opt/TrendMicro/SProtectLinux/SPLX.vsapiapp/ # mv splxmain splxmain.bak d. Upload and copy the hot fix file to the following directory: /opt/TrendMicro/SProtectLinux/ e. Decompress and un-archive the hot fix file: # tar xvzf splx_13_lx_redhat_en_hfb1385.tar.gz The resulting file should be: SPLX.vsapiapp/splxmain f. Verify whether the hot fix files have been successfully updated by checking its md5 value. # cd /opt/TrendMicro/SProtectLinux/SPLX.vsapiapp/ # md5sum splxmain 265c8e0894fe93d26c2d7e5496b5fca0 splxmain g. Start the ServerProtect service. # /etc/rc.d/init.d/splx start If after deployment you want to roll back to the original files, rename the backup file in described in Step c above. # mv splxmain.bak splxmain Note: Register online with Trend Micro within 30 days of installation to continue downloading new pattern files and product updates from the Trend Micro Web site.
